Mutton Bustin’ Championship
Hang On! It’s time for the Mutton Bustin’ Championship. Mutton Bustin’ has grown to be one of the most popular and entertaining events at the Rodeo of the Ozarks. Like the cowboy bucking events, time and score count. The winner each evening will compete for the overall Champion during the Saturday night performance.
Requirements
- 4–7 years old (age as of June 24, 2026)
- Under 55 lbs
- Wear long sleeve shirt & jeans

Judging
- Youngsters will ride sheep out of a bucking chute into the rodeo arena
- Each competitor will be timed and judged on their riding skills
- Required to sit up straight – no choke holds
- Top riders each night will ride again during the rodeo performance to determine who advances to the finals during the fourth performance.
- Meet at the Southeast entrance to the arena at 6:00 pm – Event begins at 6:30 pm. Will get last-minute instructions from organizers. Only 1 parent will be allowed in the arena with the participants. All participants and parents must have tickets to gain admittance – no tickets provided.
- Kids will be outfitted in protective helmets. 35 children limit each night. Please complete the entry form and liability release. There is a $20 entry fee. Must pay online.
